Product Details

Basic Use Primarily used in high-voltage and ultra-high-voltage AC and DC transmission lines, acting as insulators and supporting conductors. Generally assembled into insulator strings for use on lines of different voltage levels.

Structural Composition

Iron Cap: Usually made of steel, with a hot-dip galvanized surface for good corrosion resistance, effectively preventing rust and ensuring the insulator's service life. Its function is to connect other components of the insulator and connect to the transmission line's towers or conductors.

Steel Glass Component: The core insulating component of the insulator, made of high-strength tempered glass, with good insulation performance and mechanical strength. The glass component is disc-shaped, with a smooth surface to effectively reduce dust and dirt accumulation, improving the insulator's self-cleaning performance.

Steel Foot: Generally made of steel, with an elastic cushion at the top, bonded to the iron cap and tempered glass component with cement adhesive. The steel foot's function is to fix the insulator to the tower or conductor and transmit mechanical loads.

Cement Adhesive: Used to firmly bond the iron cap, tempered glass component, and steel foot together, enabling the insulator to withstand various mechanical and electrical stresses.

Performance Characteristics

1. Zero-value self-breaking, easy to detect It features zero-value self-breaking, observable from the ground or helicopter, eliminating the need for on-pole inspection, reducing labor intensity and saving on line maintenance costs.

2. Good arc resistance and vibration resistance After being burned by lightning during operation, the new surface remains a smooth glass body, with a tempered internal stress protection layer, maintaining sufficient insulation performance and mechanical strength. Meanwhile, under vibrations such as conductor galloping, the electromechanical performance is not easily attenuated.

3. Good self-cleaning performance, not easy to age: Not easy to accumulate dirt and easy to clean; glass insulators on southern lines are relatively clean after rain. The electromechanical performance after long-term operation is basically the same as when it left the factory, and no significant aging phenomenon has been observed.

4. Large main capacitance, uniform voltage distribution in series: The dielectric constant of glass is 7-8, giving glass insulators a larger main capacitance, and the voltage distribution in series is uniform, which helps reduce the voltage on the conductor side and the grounding side, thereby reducing radio interference, reducing corona loss, and extending the life of the insulator.
