Structural Features
Unique umbrella-shaped design: The umbrella-shaped disc has a large diameter, usually greater than or equal to 330mm. The underside has an aerodynamic structure, relatively flat, and is not prone to vortex formation, reducing the accumulation of dust and dirt. However, traditional aerodynamic disc-shaped suspension insulators have a relatively short creepage distance. To improve this, some products have one or more umbrella ribs under the umbrella-shaped disc to increase the creepage distance according to insulation design requirements.
Conventional connection structure: Similar to other disc-shaped suspension toughened glass insulators, it consists of an iron cap, a toughened glass component, and a steel foot, bonded together with cement adhesive. It adopts an internationally advanced cylindrical head structure, with small head size, light weight, and high strength, saving metal materials and reducing line construction costs. To meet the needs of live-line work, the traditional domestic structural shape is adopted on the cap edge.

Certain electrical insulation performance: Although its creepage distance may be relatively short compared to ordinary insulators, through reasonable design and optimized configuration in the insulator string, as well as improvements such as adding umbrella ribs, it can meet the insulation requirements of lines of a certain voltage level, ensuring that it can withstand the line voltage under normal operating conditions and prevent electrical faults such as flashover.
3. Reliable mechanical strength: Using high-strength toughened glass and high-quality metal accessories, it has high mechanical strength and can withstand various external forces in power transmission lines, such as mechanical tension, wind, and vibration, ensuring that the insulator will not be damaged by mechanical stress during long-term operation, thus ensuring the safe and stable operation of the line.
Application Scenarios
Areas with many birds: Due to its large disc diameter, in power transmission lines in areas with many birds, an aerodynamic disc-shaped suspension toughened glass insulator is often used at the top of the insulator string to effectively block bird droppings, preventing bird droppings from fouling the entire insulator string surface and reducing flashover accidents caused by bird droppings.
Areas with severe ice disasters: In areas with severe ice disasters, this type of insulator can be used at intervals in the insulator string. Its large umbrella-shaped disc can block ice accumulation, increase the protective creepage distance, reduce the impact of ice accumulation on the electrical performance of the insulator string, and improve the operational reliability of the line under icing conditions.
